La Mer Wellbeing offers educational and wellbeing classes to students in Year 11 to Year 12.
Our educational lessons are one-to-one and are personalised to meet your child's individual needs. In conjunction with the Australian Curriculum and Christina Aloisio's C.R.E.A.T.E. Appreciation for Learning Theory, every lesson addresses creative and critical thinking to provide a rounded approach to learning. This type of approach and guidance instills confidence in our students, which as a result maximises their academic potential.
At La Mer Wellbeing we value the wellbeing of all our students regardless of age. Our complimentary wellbeing classes that are held twice a week promote goal setting strategies, nutrition, assessment planning and most importantly an appreciation for learning. We have found that these classes are beneficial as they allow students to engage with each other and to promote good work ethics. It also allows students to bounce creative ideas off each other and compare notes as well as study tips.
Higher School Certificate (HSC) Assessments
The HSC is one of the highest educational awards offered in New South Wales and is offered to Year 11 and 12 with final assessments and exams being conducted in October. Students complete school-based assessments as part of their HSC and this accounts for 50% of their overall HSC mark. These tasks include assignments, in-class tests, speeches and practical assessments. These assessments are all curated by your child's school and please note that they vary from school-to-school. The remaining 50% is conducted during the HSC examination period, where the entire course for each subject is covered.
Upon completing the HSC students are awarded individual marks per subject and their Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) which is not a mark and is a number between 0.00 and 99.95. An ATAR is used as a predictor of success for most tertiary courses, as it provides a measure of a student's overall academic achievement in relation to their peers.
